This post is a little different than usual. . . I’m doing something new, something fun, something thrilling. . . I’m participating in the Bookish Blog Tag challenge! π₯³
I had the great honor of receiving a nomination from Ryan Elizabeth, the organizer of the challenge.
I’ll be answering a series of difficult literary questions, so sit back, grab some tea, and enjoy! Maybe you’ll learn something new about me. π Let’s dive in!
QUESTIONS
1. What are 1-3 of your favorite books of all time?
Hmm. . . this is a really hard question. Out of all the books I’ve read so far, I’d say Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Lamplighter by Maria. S. Cummins, and (it’s a current read, but I’m loving it) The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater are my top favorites.
2. What are 1-3 of your favorite authors of all time?
Jane Austen. She’s a legend. Her wit, her character arcs, and her themes are just a few things that make her novels enjoyable. I admire her greatly.
J.R. R. Tolkien. Good grief, his worldbuilding is just mind-blowing! I can tell he really poured a lot of depth into his novels. Hats off to this man!
Agatha Christie. She’s such a genius. Great fan of her plot twists. π
**Yes, these are all British authors. But what can I say? They’re the best. π
3. Who is your favorite female character from a book?
Ahh, this is so hard! Out of all the books I’ve read so far, I’m going to have to go with Elinor Dashwood.
I relate to her on so many levels! And I admire her quiet strength, good sense, and self-sacrifice. Yes, I like her even better than Elizabeth Bennet. π
4. Who is your favorite male character from a book?
Ooh, this one’s too hard! There are so many amazing guys! I’m going to break the rules and record my current top two.
SHERLOCK HOLMES. I want his mind palace!! Honestly. I aspire to have at least 1/10 of his observation skills by the time I die.
MR. TILNEY. Sure, Mr. Darcy is generous and all but. . . Mr. Tilney. He’s the real gentleman. He’s witty, actually nice, forgiving and so much more. I think he deserves more credit! #underratedhero
5. What’s your favorite fictional world?
Narnia. All the way. There’s so much to do there! And the scenery is enchanting. . .
6. What book has your favorite book cover?
I have yet to find one that I really love.
But Barnes & Noble’s Collectible Edition of Pride & Prejudice is stunning. My heart flutters every time I see it on my shelf.
All the Barnes & Noble Classics are lovely! π€©
7. What’s your favorite book-to-movie adaptation?
The Book Thief. The actors are incredible!
Pride & Prejudice (1980 TV Series). Obscure but priceless.
**If you didn’t know before, this post has proved that I’m a big Jane Austen nerd. π
8. If you could make any book into a movie, which would it be?
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. I need it now.
9. What was your favorite childhood book?
On The Edge of The Dark Sea of Darkness. The whole “Wingfeather Saga” for that matter!
10. Fantasy or Sci-fi (or neither)?
Fantasy! Aside from watching Star Wars movies, I’m not much of Sci-fi person. . .

Abigail, the wingfeather saga series is one of my favorites too! *spoiler alert for any one who has not read the book* I love how Andrew Peterson incorporates the same sacrificial love Jesus had on the cross for us as Janner had to tink.
I marvel at your choice of words, and style that you use on all your blogs! (Iβm a writer too, but donβt have any blogs π)
Ahh, Janner! *breaks down into sobs* One of the first characters I’ve ever cried over (and I have a long list). I love him so much…. Interesting parallel, thank you for pointing that out! Aw, thanks, Greta! That’s so sweet of you. *high fives* nice to meet another writer!
Aw, thanks for the tag! Henry Tilney is so absolutely underrated.
You’re welcome! He sooo is!
I loved reading your answers to these questions! And thanks so much for the tag! (I’m realizing that my answers are going to be similar to yours because I also love Jane Austen. π)
Thank you, Bella! β€ Haha, she’s amazing. (; Can’t wait to see yours!
Love all the books you mentioned, but there were one or two I didn’t know – know I’m excited to read those! π
YES! Go read them! (: Thank you for reading!
My favorite male Jane Austen character is Mr. Knightley! Great job on this post!
Mr. Knightley is fantastic! Thank you for reading! πβ¨
One of my favorite books would also be Pride and Prejudice. However, my number 1 favorite book of all time (except the Bible of course) would be Two Sisters of Bamarre. That book makes me cry every time. What I find interesting, upon reflection, is how books grow on you. In 9th grade I read Jacob Have I Loved and really did not like it. I found it so strange and just weird. Today, however, Jacob Have I Loved has become one of my favorite books (probably in the top 10 actually). The last time I read it I was crying so hard at one point that my family thought something was wrong. Haha
As I am currently reading only my second Jane Austen book (Sense and Sensibility) I would have to say my favorite male character is George Knightley from the 1996 Emma movie. I am looking forward to reading that book and seeing if he still remains as highly esteemed in my mind as he does right now.
Great post!
I need to read that book!! And yes, the attachment is what makes books magical! β¨
Yes! Emma (the book) is amazing and I admire Mr. Knightley. β₯ Let me know what you think of Emma! Thank you for reading!
Love this! Thanks so much for participating, Abbi! π
Also, I totally agree about the Barnes & Noble classic covers!! π€©
Thank you for nominating me, Ryan! β₯ This was so much fun!
Right?
Thank you for the nomination! This looks like a fun tag — I’ll probably be doing it soon! π
The 1980s P&P adaptation is really underrated. It’s not my favorite, but it does have my favorite Lizzie out of all the movies. π
Yes to a Scorpio Races movie!! That book is SOO good!
Splendid! *throws confetti*
Oh my stars, you’re the first person I’ve meet who’s actually heard of/watched it! I love the Lizzie in it sooo much. β₯ She really embodies the character! Yes, she’s my favorite too.
Aggghhhh! Rightt?!
